The 22nd annual Richfield Citizen Police Academy starts Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, and continues every Thursday through Oct. 15 from 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. This is a free, 15-hour, 5-week course designed to give residents a working knowledge of the operations and responsibilities of the Richfield Police. It is also a great opportunity to meet Richfield’s police officers.
Topics discussed include Administrative Overview, Patrol Procedures, Police Communications, Criminal Investigations, Traffic Enforcement, a Tour of Police Facilities, Hennepin County Crime Lab and more.
Any person who is at least 18 years old and lives or owns a business in Richfield may attend the academy. There are no physical qualifications necessary and mandatory attendance of all sessions is NOT required. A criminal history check will be conducted on all applicants.
