(Richfield, MN) Today, the Richfield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously approved the 2015 Small Business Hall of Fame Inductee: Minnesota Life College, Amy Gudmestad Executive Director.
Each year, Chamber members nominate fellow members for the Small Business Hall of Fame. Candidates must be a majority owner and/or operating head of an independently owned, profit-making business enterprise for at least five years, must have less than 500 employees, revenues not exceeding $10 million dollars in annual sales and must be a Richfield Chamber of Commerce member in good standing.
The selection committee, who represent a variety of professions and backgrounds, review each confidential nomination and inductees are selected based upon selection criteria. The call for Small Business Hall of Fame nominations was announced in March and the inductee will be recognized at the Chamber’s Salute to Small Business event on April 17, 2015 featuring keynote speaker Diane Cross, President and CEO of Fraser - a Richfield nonprofit serving adults and children with mental and physical disabilities.
Tim Carter, a Richfield Chamber member who nominated MLC, said “Richfield Bloomington Honda proudly nominates Minnesota Life College for the Small Business Hall of Fame. We have directly benefited from the college by having students work for us. We currently employ an MLC graduate, Malcolm Roach, who has been with us for a year and a half and is a great addition to our team.”
Richfield Chamber Board member Laurel Hansen echoed the support of MLC, “I recommend the nomination of MN Life College. They have been an excellent community partner with The Arc and a vital part of the Richfield community.”
The Richfield Chamber of Commerce will host the “Salute to Small Business” event at the Radisson Blu Mall of America; tickets are still available and registration is required – visit for details.
