SUMMARY:Richfield Rotary - Weekly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Join Richfield Rotary's guest Professor Tor Leiknes from Norway who is a water researcher and will be discussing the subject "Living without Water".\n\n\n\nWater as a readily available resource can no longer be taken for granted from a global perspective. Many regions of the world suffer from water scarcity due to regional geographical conditions (e.g. local climate conditions\, rivers and lakes\, availability of ground water etc.). In many regions conditions are further stressed from population growth\, increasing urbanization trends\, and climate change. A global perspective of water resources\, uses and challenges to our modern societies will be given. Highlights of changing paradigms and how we deal with our water resources as well as what can be done to meet these future needs will be presented.
